Biography
Georg Houben is a Policy Officer at the EU Commission’s DG ENER, coordinating the Smart Cities Marketplace and the Covenant of Mayors since 2010. A graduate of electro-technical engineering (RWTH Aachen), he has focused on urban matters since 2011, recognizing the sector's potential for key EU policies. His diverse background includes roles in radiation protection (JRC) and large-scale automation (Mitsubishi Electric, Rockwell Automation).
